Last gardening event of the year "a resounding success"

9 Nov 2018

Our last gardening event took place on Thursday, 8 November and was hailed as a great success by those who attended. All 13 volunteers and One Westminster staff  spent a fun three hours clearing a huge amount of autumnal leaves at St John’s Wood Church Ground Gardens, NW8 7NE. Volunteer Manager Nigel Barber said: "We've had a truly wonderful year with our taster volunteering days - and the gardening ones have been the best of all. They've all been a resounding sucess."

The clearance of the leaves at the gardens ensure that the grass survives the winter. And moving the leaves to the wildlife area in the gardens in turn will provide much needed protection over the winter to the animal life living there.

More gardening events starting in April 2019 are planned, so watch this space.
