Description

Union Dance is in residence with art director and associates at the Abbey Centre, Westminster: Artists gravitate to UD as a central London place/space with a creative force of freelance dancers, media, with national and international interns/volunteers working together, devising movement and digital material for art projects throughout the year. Many young artists, dancers/choreographers, actors and musician/composers, photographers, and video makers have emerged from the Union Too, the training arm of Union Dance, including now professionals in The West End and within international dance companies. Volunteers are trained at UD in dance, teacher training, administration, social media and marketing and many continue in these job roles and gain jobs successfully in the cultural sector, as at The South Bank Centre, and The British Museum. UD Board Members, who are all mainly UK immigrants, are giving support in kind and very actively involved in the process. One of the Board young newcomers for example is an intern five years ago, who is now a marketing account director in PR and publicity.
