Premises can be vital to the work of Westminster’s charities and voluntary sector – whether renting the occasional room for meetings, hoping to grow enough to find a ‘base’, struggling to keep repairing damp, dilapidated spaces rented from the Council, balancing the essential income and costs of running venue hire with the need for space to deliver services – how do we manage?
At this meeting, speakers will include:
Ian McAuley, Strategic Asset Manager at Westminster City Council Corporate Property
Liz Thorpe-Tracey from Happy Lizzy will explore how more empty buildings could be used and shared by community groups, like the new proposed Happy Hub – a temporary community space in Queens Park.
Genevieve Peattie will introduce FiveFields, a flexible workspace for charities working with children, set up by the Westminster Foundation.
