Pregnant in West London is a registered charity, providing free antenatal classes covering subjects including labour, birth nutrition, mental health, first aid, pain relief and coming home with baby. We aim to empower young women and their partners through education about the birthing process and beyond, giving them ownership and confidence to make informed personal choices. After the classes, parents will feel more confident to respond to their baby's needs and more connected to support if they do struggle. This will enable them to give their baby a more positive and responsive start in life with far reaching consequences for the child's future development and resilience. The charity was started in 2020 , when we discovered there is little or no birth- preparation education, resulting in often negative birth experience, leaving new parents feeling vulnerable and alone. Sadly, the NHS has very little funding for ante natal classes and NCT classes are prohibitively expensive. Our classes are available to people from West London.
