Flat Justice Community Interest Company specialises in advice and advocacy for private tenants who make Rent Repayment Order (RRO) applications under the Housing and Planning Act 2016 (HaPA). This relatively new legislation is a powerful way for tenants to obtain redress in disputes covering illegal eviction, harassment, violent entry, licensing and poor property maintenance/management. RROs also motivate landlords to license and improve the safety and amenities of their properties. We offer free advice and affordable commission-based advocacy as well as pro bono work in certain cases. We publish guides and resources on our website, GetRentBack.org and campaign for tenants’ rights in this area. Our advocacy work is only at the London Tribunals and we have enquiries mainly from London.
